DMV

I know it's cliche to complain about the DMV, but OH MY FRIGGIN GOSH!

I was DMVing from 9:30 AM to 3:45 PM and the experience cost Kelly and me over $705 to add no value to our vehicles, just register and title them in California.

Our New York plates are of course rusted in place after four upstate winters, so the California plates are not on yet. The bolts are marinating in WD-40 until tomorrow.  Piddy Ting has the new plates.

The smog check guy laughed at the rust on our cars. Pam, the DMV worker who verified the VIN number on Piddy Ting, told me the bike was really nice three different times. I'd think she wanted a ride if she wasn't twice my size.

After five hours of jumping through hurtles to register cars, I then had to get my California driver license. They don't just take your word for it that you can drive, just because some other state licensed you, you have to take the worlds hardest written exam. The questions on the written test are way harder than the ones on the sample exams.

Kelly and I both BARELY passed the Class C license test, and I failed the motorcycle test once and just passed it the second time, with the maximum number of questions wrong (4 of 15).

We move into the townhouse in Lancaster tomorrow.
