Dear Subscribers

I am very sorry to all those seven of you who have subscribed to How Daddy to get email notifications of when we publish a new entry. I subscribed to the website myself and found out that every time I update an entry because I found a typo or publish something just to see how it looks, you get a message.

I think yesterday, I got 11 messages from blog.howdaddyisdoing.com. So sorry. The screen that I write entries in looks completely different from the actual site and sometimes I just see things that I couldn't have until it's published. Unless I can figure out a way to publish without sending notifications until it's final, this will be a necessary evil. My apologies.

I'm trying to post often enough that it's rewarding to check daily to see if there is new content, making subscribing less necessary. Plus the email format of the posts are not as appealing as the site itself is with the background we have.

I have this same experience with my blog, Chuck. For some reason, I see mistakes when I publish that I miss in the pre-publication phase and wind up going back and fixing things. I'll also edit entries a few hours or even a couple days later if I happen to be reading an entry and notice something that bothers me.

You have no idea how much better that makes me feel that you do the same thing. No one can edit his/her own work and posting an entry on a blog is supposed to be somewhat close to "live" so it isn't practical always to write something then walk up to it later and pretend hyuo don't know it. So you end up doing it to the posted entry and once I know something is wrong, I won't sleep until it's fixed.

You aren't alone. I even go back and fix stuff that I see even months later, although it is usually something technical about the layout or something. One of the reasons I like posting entries at 3am is that I'm pretty sure that no one is going to read it immediately, so once I post it, I can edit freely without fearing someone would see it before it's fixed.
