Six pack of wine: Trader Joe's partially redeems itself

Kelly went shopping in preparation for everyone's arrival here this week. As anyone who has been reading knows, one of the dumbest things about Southern California for us has been the dismal state of grocery stores, most notably the striking lack of a Wegmans.

Trader Joe's has been at the top of my bad list for a while, but Kelly has been warming to it lately. I will have to go back and try to let it stand on its own merits, not rate it on its lack of being Wegmans. Mostly because Kelly came home with this today.

The photo stinks, but it's a tote bag for six bottles of wine and/or assorted booze. So Kelly bought a $0.99 tote bag, which just needed $70.00 worth of wine to make the purchase seem complete. So we are completely stocked for Adrienne and the family.

Other preparations include buying our third humidifier. We've had Stormy for a while. When we first got here, the dryness really got to us. I used to wake up in the middle of the night, dying of thirst with my lips fused to my teeth. I think we've acclimated now, but our visitors aren't going to be here long and I want to make sure their bodies don't suffer from the 10% humidities while here.

So we broke down and got the frog humidifier, which we named Foggy.

Crane Adorable Frog Humidifier

Foggy will be in Adrienne/Richie's room. We also have a boring old regular one that we may loan to my parents who are staying at the Courtyard.

For the record, it was $47 worth of wine/assorted booze. And who said I was sharing?

Well, we've all seen the bag now and everything.

Trader Joe's has these ginger cookies shaped like cats that are really, really good. The chocolate ones are pretty good, too.

I love the ginger cookies and like the variety of lemonade, mango come on who does not like mango. Of course I went to TJs on a trip knowing I had Wegman's at home to return to.

With that much booze, you'll need to be sure to have a couple of trucks and rednecks on standby. Just in case.

    I'm just saying.

Kelly, you'll be happy to hear that I went to Ang's house yesterday and she begrudgingly gave up the DVDs. Chaley has them in her suitcase. We've decided just to rent them since we haven't had the chance to watch them over the last year. Am I back on the good list now? Ok, maybe not after the redneck remark. : )

I'm excited about the DVDs since there is NOTHING on TV, except for American Idol tonight. The only thing is now I have nothing to harass you about.

Oh, you were never on the bad list. Chaley...not so much.

I've been a bit concerned since reading that you had all this wine...I'm hoping that Adrienne and I won't have to pick you up off the middle of the road in front of your complex

Chuck, I got an idea: We can do six-packs of scotch with a side pouch for cheese, only we will call them a "work week." Sound good? Damn right it does! Unemployment was the best. We would go through a bottle of scotch and a brick of cheese a day. Ah, the memories...

Unemployment in early 2003 was some of the most fun I've ever had. For whatever reason, I can only justify buying $30 bottles of scotch when I don't have a job.

yes you would multiply each can times the percent of each can. It will take about 6 hours to get out of your system, about one hour per beer.

Since I'm so "dependent" on reviews to help me along, the fact that they place summary's of wine reviews, or graded "points" , in addition to "Staff picks". That helps me when I need to choose between something too cheap, or something moderately more expensive.

Perhaps many Gucci handbags are appreciated from gucci replica handbags, either in street retailers or magazines because of their too expensive prices. Nevertheless gucci handbag handbags are then priced for any quite good reason: every Gucci handbag is made of luxe leather with decent designs and excellent craftsmanship. Also, gucci bags on sale maintain a very impressive sales record in wholesale handbags market.
