Throwback Thursday: Mom's Birthday 2005

In September of ought five, dad threw a surprise birthday party for my mom's (shhhh!, 60th) birthday party in my sister JJ's barn. We got mom there under the guise that it was really JJ's husband Steve's early birthday party. She bought it. Dad drove her straight into the barn where we had, I don't know, 60 friends and relatives waiting to shout "Surprise!"

She was in fact surprised. She was really upset at dad, first, for driving into the barn, but then she was totally not understanding why we were saying surprise to her at Steve's party.

Later dad addressed the crowd.

It made Chaley cry, which is so out of character for her.

Kelly played with the kids' toys.

Some people were really active.

Others weren't so active.

These photos make me miss home.

Chuck - I will be emailing you an album of "approved photos."

You are no longer allowed to randomly select the photos of me you choose to post since your judgment is questionable.

Or, you may take the latest "You Suck at Photoshop" class and try your hand at alteration. I'd like to be a size 7, with only one chin, please. And if you can eliminate the fat rolls, that would be ok too.
