Crime scene tape

There's that one house across the road from our apartment complex that seems to have the cops in the driveway more than the others. Well, finally Saturday night a deputy had to shoot a guy there to defend himself. It was much closer to us here than we would like something like that to happen, so we were in our mortgage broker's office yesterday to be sure we're ready to move on a house once we find one.

I'm surprisingly calm about all this and really getting excited.

Our neighbors both got arrested on Sunday night. Neither is back yet. Sandi had to be restrained via handcuffs and then tied down. And THAT was in the ambulance! It could happen anywhere.....

Yeah, but it's happening a little too often here. There's also the choppers with spotlights circling overhead. Freaks me right out.

I've told several Californians about that. No one believes me. I don't want to think about it.

The complex I work at has vacancies! We haven't had the police here in over 30 minutes, I've only seen four crack heads today and no one has jumped off the 17th story in over 4 months!

Oh, and anyone want to place bets on how quickly Paw's place gets robbed now that he's advertised on the internet the fact that he doesn't lock the doors?

Of course, the scary gun collection may deter a few...

JJ, This made me laugh out loud at the reference desk here at the library, which made all the patrons turn and stare like, "What's that librarian's problem?"

Thanks, Adrienne! I needed to make someone laugh today. I've had a pretty humorless week. : )

They've all been removed from consideration. We're also widening our search to houses as old as 1989 to see more. We'll put some houses on Kodak. Maks sure maw, paw, and JJ can get to kodak.

Remember when looking at houses, you can fix your interest rate but you can't fix the neighborhood.

And visit the house at all time of day and all days of the week to get a real sense of the comings and goings of your neighbors.

There was one house we looked at that was nice except the BB holes in all the rear windows and the vacant house next door that someone had tried to chisel out the windows.
