Even though I have been steadily chipping away at my fear of heights, it still bothers me a lot to look at pictures of people in high spots like that--probably more than it would for me to be there myself.
I'm with Chaley: no way would I let my kid anywhere near that.

My hands are very, very sweaty right now. There is a big difference between combating a healthy fear of heights and being one of the dumbest people on the planet - who clearly are so desperately bored with reality that they have to do something stupid just to live their pathetic existence. I'll stick to the daily grind and occasional sunset, thank you very much.

Exactly. If they want something thrilling, they should come to WNY today and drive. That's it, just drive in this snow and blowing snow.

Oh, I know. This morning, I woke up and it was sunny, so I was like, "I'm going to pick up Mom and run errands!" Two seconds after I got out the door, it's a freaking blizzard. It cleared up and got sunny again about an hour after I got home.
I swear. This is one of the many reasons I should never leave the house.

I cannot believe how crappy the roads are today. We saw sun in Brockport today, but it has yet to appear here. The drifting is what really surprised me! I'm eternally glad I am in for the night now!

I"m surprised that you, Chuck, would not try swimming in this pool. Weren't you one of the boys who rode his bike off Devil's Nose when we were young? What happened to your sense of adventure? I'd totally try the pool out. Maybe not with lil K, but I might take a dip in it myself.

Big waterfalls and trains are two things that I have always had a great affection for and an intense fear of. Something about Niagra Falls has always deeply freaked me out. I remember seeing a small eddy cove, or lagoon on the Canadian side once, protected from the current, and I don't think I could even swim there.
I think it's something to do with the story of the people who were stuck on that one barge that almost went over the falls but didn't.
When I stand next to either a train or falls, I feel so small and powerless. Maybe that's why some day I want a model train in my back yard with a waterfall, so I can take back control of them.
