Finally, Seeing Green II: the continuation of last weekend

So after going to Sausalito, see this entry if you're confused, we went into San Francisco to see the park and the Japanese Gardens.

Did I mention it was GREEN?

Some men are all natural and look like babies belong with them.

Some men just look awkward with babies.

At the park we saw this, which was cool.

I want a GO CAR.

So anyway, we went to China Town for some lunch.

It was everything I had remembered. The first Chinese food I ever had was in China Town in San Francisco with my father when I was 14; all other Chinese food has been a disappointment ever since. Except in Taiwan.

Jeffrey had Command Central going in the back of the Hyundai SUV they rented, with his laptop and the maps and such.

This was San Francisco after all.

That makes me want some Rice-a-Roni. Cable cars are cool. Whatever you do, don't call them trolleys. There are trannies in SF, but not trolleys.

After that we went to Heather's mom's place in Petaluma, the last place in America that looks like America.

It is rather idyllic and preserved. Like a Disney version of an American town.

Sunday morning, Kelly and I got a yoga session from Nora, Heather's mother. I was sore until Wednesday. Heather got to wake to seeing Kelly and I Downward Facing Dog to her mother.

Petaluma was a sight for sore eyes from the desert, I can't imagine how it must have seemed for Heather and Jeffrey after a/an NYC winter.

Kelly, Jeffery, and I went for a hike in the Napa Valley area to see a stream and waterfalls.

It was indescribably beautiful. As per usual, the best parts of the state park were beyond the warning signs. I think Patrick taught me that on a trip to Letchworth SP in 1991. It's still true, whatever state park you're in.

I drank some of the water and did not get sick. It tasted great.

The trees and stuff had moss. It seemed more like Oregon than California, because it's not the California we have gotten to know. A guy in the restaurant in Sausalito said that people either like Northern California or Southern California, never both.

He's full of crap.

It actually really looked like where the Ewoks lived in Return of the Jedi. Probably because this is where George Lucas has bought many thousands of acres and probably filmed some of his movies here.

On their way there we saw cool stuff too.

Jeffrey will return later to get better photos of the truck. I want that truck in the worst way.
