You Know What's Stupid? Everything I Don't Understand
I saw this article from The Onion today and thought of my last entry.
My parents taught me that the word "hate" is really a horrible word and should be used more sparingly than our culture tends to use it. Saying that I hate musicals is harsh and inaccurate. But I do think they're stupid and I don't understand them.
I'm that guy from The Onion more often than I want to admit.

I think I'd like it if people in my life started bursting into song from time-to-time to explain their motivations. This would make work, for instance, vastly more entertaining and comprehensible.

All this discussion about musicals -- I love Grease, by the way (friends can disagree), but my favorite musical of all time is Guys and Dolls -- reminds me of the episode of the Simpsons where Homer is at the zoo, I think, looking at the monkeys who are doing nothing. He shouts: I've seen plays better than this! Plaaays!

I'm going to use Homer's line from now on.

The Onion article may have been the best thing I've read ever.

The Onion article made me think of phone conversations with Chuck. When you get to something he doesn't want to discuss, the conversation is over.

Violent Acres has been disappointing for about four months now. I'm over her.

Agreed. But, you should check out 15 Minute Lunch if you haven't yet. Sometimes lameish, sometimes hysterically funny.

I tried to post a few videos of the house to give everyone a walkthrough, but it didn't upload. I'll try again tonight.

I strongly suspect that you haven't updated the Kodak Gallery with all of your photos of the house yet, either. Do you have a closing date?

The 24th is one date we've heard. It may be a little before or after. We are trying to find out today if the house appraised at the value we've offered, then just need final loan approval based on that. The home inspection went really well, only one minor fix ~$100 to the furness. All the appliances are good and there are no major issues. We're not too worried about things moving along the way we want, but still it's stressful.

At least it's not three months like here so that you get to see ten other houses you might also like before you get to move into the one you are buying.
