I believe our purpose is to extend life.
Not to prolong any certain individual's life, but to extend life itself beyond its current constraints on our earth and within our solar system.
Our purpose is to be the spores of life that spread across the galaxy.

I believe when the aliens find us, the only unique thing they'll think we have to offer is music.

I believe that our purpose on life is to realize that we *already* extend beyond our life's current constraints and within our galaxy.
We, as a species, cannot grasp this purpose until we develop the ability to realize that all energy within this illusion of life moves in synchronicity. Once that is understood, we can begin to accept accountability for the "oneness" which may allow us to recognize our potential beyond our current limitations.
Or, ditto what Jeffrey said.

I believe our purpose is to figure things out, and my *personal* purpose is to figure out how to make my living working at home in my pajamas.

Every piece of real evidence we have tells us we are unique and alone in the universe. We have only conjecture to counter that. And not to sound too John Lennon like, but imagine if people are actually the most prominent species that displays empathy, compassion, and love.
What if love is our human invention alone. We beat ourselves up daily on man's inhumanity to man, but imagine if compassion itself never existed before we evolved.
