Google maps

So, if you go to Google and click on maps





Then you put in my parent's zip code. You can then take the little person icon in the box on the left and drag that guy to the spot on the map on the road in front of their house.



You'll find this:


That's my dad mowing the ditch. I think these photos are taken from a car with a 360 degree camera on top that takes a photo every 20 feet or so as the car travels down the road. Mom and Dad's road must have been photographed some late August or September. Dad can probably tell which year by the placement of his vehicles or the way the field to the south that he leases to the local farming operations look.

Pretty freaky but pretty cool too. It made me more than a little homesick.

Random thoughts: The moon is so bright tonight it looks like you could get a moonburn if you aren't careful. Also Dr. Sanjay Gupta, really? If he was looking for a famous doctor for Surgeon General, why not Dr. Dean Edell; someone who uses science to come to conclusions, not the desires of pharmaseutical companies? And shouldn't the CIA be run by, I don't know, SPIES? It's like two different people are appointing positions in this administration, one who is thinking clearly and rationally and one who's freaking insane.
